Wednesday April 1st 2020 – Day 19 of Social Distancing/Quarantine First day of real food for all 3 meals!

 

Woke up at 9am today… Yay ya it’s becoming a bad habit.

But We stayed up last night watching “Tiger King” so you know it was worth it! HA

It was nice and warm this morning {we slept with the windows open last night}. I took Jager out and Kevin yelled “babe I got you the bizzle” this was a first since I hadn’t had it since last Tuesday. I stood in the kitchen and ate the egg bites he got me {he says the cheese Danish is the common factor of all 3 times I have gotten sick, so no cheese Danish}. He hung the roman shades that I ordered for the kitchen window. And then he changed the light over the sink to an LED. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I had a meeting at 11 on zoom, so you know I got all dolled up for that! Not really, I put a t shirt and leggings on rather than a sweat shirt and sweat pants.

I went up to the other house with Kevin to look things over. We ended up going over to my moms to measure the mantel. Amanda was there and gave me some of her moms Pyrex. That was super cool! I went home, read my emails and got ready for the meeting.

Mark stopped by {he was bringing bugs to Penny next door}. He came in and we talked a min. I showed him my garden and then it was meeting time.

I was able to hook up with the meeting no problem. It was good and interesting. I feel so cool like I am important or something ha-ha I’m so silly.

Anyways after the meeting Kevin and I ate our leftovers for lunch. We talked about going to Ganahl in Pasadena to look for wood for the mantel, and shelves I want. On our way there we decided to stop by my aunt’s house and pick up a couple things before she moves to Montana.

We saw Anthony at Ganahl. We found a 6x8 for the mantel and I found an awesome board for the shelves. Anthony had taken his lunch in his car, so we drove over and talked to him!

We then went by my aunt’s house and got a bunch of stuff. And I got the metal clip/stand for the Pyrex chip n dip set. SO freakin cool!!!!

I also got an old aluminum flour coffee tea set that was my grandmothers. It’s so cool!

 

We got home sometime after 3pm so it was too late for a nap. I decided to go and do a little yard work. I watered the garden, pulled a few weeds.

I got Kevin to move the lockers down to the porch for me. I picked up all the fallen tangerines and the basket of rotten lemons. I just fussed around the yard.

I got Kevin to call the scrap metal guy to come pick up the 2 piles of crap! I hung in my swing for a bit, and cleaned up the potting bench a bit. It finally started to get dark so I came in.

Kevin went and picked up food from the chicken place {otherwise know as Hell’s Chicken}. We ate dinner and now Kevin is sitting in his chair playing on his iPad, and I am in my office typing this. When I am down with this, I may try to scrap a little in my journal. I will hop in the shower, and then will watch some TV and then it’s bed. It was a pretty normal day if you ask me.

Newsome also announced that school will not resume this semester!

Thursday March 26th 2020 – Day 13 of Social Distancing/Quarantine, Day 3 in bed

I think I slept pretty decent.

The pain killers really helped!

But I pooped myself.

Yep that’s what I woke up to!

Kevin was in the shower, with tears in my eyes I had to get in with him, to wash my butt.

I barely was able to wash myself I was so sore. Once out of the shower I crawled back into bed {his side} while I waited for him to come change the sheets. He dressed me and sent me to the couch, till he could get the bed made. I knew when I woke up, I was so dehydrated that I needed an IV. And I was nauseous again and the diarrhea was pretty bad. In the past 2 days I don’t think I had, had more than 16oz of water/Gatorade to drink or eaten more than 10 crackers. Kevin called the Dr. again and she agreed that I needed to be in the ER with an IV. We talked about how this wasn’t the greatest idea because of the corona virus. I asked if I could get a home nurse, but she said that would take days to get set up, and there just wasn’t the resources right now. I decided to NOT go to the ER. The thought of being in the ER gave me the worst anxiety. The uncomfortable beds. Being alone. I just couldn’t do it.

Kevin made me some cream of wheat and suggested that I take another norco the nausea medicine and some Imodium. Thankfully this helped with all of the above and I got a good couple of hours of sleep. I asked Kevin to get me some more Gatorade and some chicken soup from subway, you know just in case!

At this point I haven’t been outside since Tuesday afternoon. I haven’t had anything to eat since In-N-Out on Tuesday. I haven’t properly taken a shower. 2 ½ days of just YUCK. I feel like I have the worst hangover of all time. My head hurts, my eyes hurt, my body aches, my hips hurt I can’t lay on my side. I have leg cramps. I have butt cramps! My pillow sucks. Life just sucks. What a time to get a stomach bug when there is a pandemic in the world. Shitty Ass Timing!

What Kevin and I have done is compare this to when I was sick 5 weeks ago and when I spent 2 days in the hospital last year. They are all so similar. They all came on suddenly! So, we think {but were no experts} that this isn’t corona. Yes, I have a temp that comes and goes, but no cough!

Well I can’t remember much else from this day except that I was in a lot of pain!

Wednesday March 25th 2020 – Day 12 of Social Distancing/Quarantine, Day 2 in bed

No photos today, No screen shots. I don't even know if I looked at my phone 1 time today!

 

 

I woke up feeling terrible. Kinda like a freight train hit me. There was no way I was getting out of bed today. I don’t think I felt too nauseous but the diarrhea had started. I had Kevin call the Dr. They said they would call back when a Dr was available.

I had Kevin call the Dr. when I started throwing up yesterday, but they had already closed for the day. The Dr.’s office wasn’t seeing patients but they were there for phone calls. I knew I shouldn’t go to the ER because of the pandemic, so when Kevin kept asking me the day before I said no.

The Dr called back around 12:30 and we talked, she said I was smart for not going to the ER. She called me in a prescription for the nausea, told me to drink lots of fluids. She also said that she didn’t think I had corona, but to be safe stay home and avoid people, and wash my hands A LOT.

I think today was literally the worst day of my life. I couldn’t get comfortable. I was SO achy.

I hurt in every possible way. I think I ate a total of 5 saltine crackers! By the time I was wanting dinner everything was closed. So, I came up with the idea of having a slim fast, you know it was liquid, it had some protein. Worst idea ever!!! One sip and it was over. Not really. But 1 sip and I knew it was not gonna happen. I think I ate about 5 more crackers and called it a night. I had Kevin find me a Norco and give me a klonopin so I could sleep.

** That’s pretty much all I can remember from this day. It was just that terrible.

Tuesday March 24st 2020 - Day 11 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

Woke up and hoped in the shower. I have a “managers meeting” @ BG at 11am

I showed up at BG right on time, for Robin to tell me the meeting was tomorrow.

Oops well at least I was early right?

 

I went and dropped off my dad’s paycheck, he wasn’t at the shop so I just put them through the mail slot.

Then I headed to Peen-Rite to take the payroll.

I saw my dad at the corner of Tuxford and Glenoaks, he must have been at Peen-Rite.

I dropped the payroll off at Peen-Rite, everyone was on break so I left.

As I headed home, I decided to go to Vons, it had been almost 2 weeks since we had gone and I figured we could use a few things.

 

I also wanted to make a pot roast. I bought a roast, there was no ground beef. I got some carrots and an onion.

I grabbed 2 loaves of bread, half a gallon of milk.

There were no eggs. I got some jam, but there was no peanut butter.

I also grabbed a bunch of snacks, like granola bars and such.

When I checked out, I had such a bad experience I couldn’t shake it.

The checker was such a bitch. I mean I get it your having a bad day, I’m sorry etc.

Anyways you know I am new to this whole market shopping thing. Apparently, you can’t use your own bags now.

But you still have to pay for the throw away ones. The chick was just so rude about it.

I went home in a bad mood.

I got home and was unloading the groceries when Kevin came in.

He was gonna head to the do it center than pick up lunch for him and JD. SO, I decided to go with him.

They didn’t have the pieces he needed, but we ran into Robert and talked to him for a bit.

We decided to go to In-N-Out for lunch. As we were driving there, I got really nauseous.

I almost didn’t order any food. I just felt off. Earlier in the day I had been super-hot, but I thought that was because I had showered, washed and dried my hair.

We got lunch headed home and ate with JD. Towards the end of lunch, I just couldn’t wait for lunch to be over and I could take a nap.

I got into bed and I just started to ache! I couldn’t get comfortable, and I still felt like I was going to throw up. I felt like crying.

I text Kevin to come check on me. He did and I told him how I felt. He’s like you got it, you got the corona. And then the puking began. All of IN-N-Out came up. I was so cold and so achy.

I felt slightly better after throwing up, but another round came and it was all bad again.

I think I might have slept for an hour or two, not really sure. Kevin finally came in for the night and I was sitting in the chair, I was wearing sweats with 2 blankets on me. And then the hot flashes came.

Kevin took my temp and it was 100.5. He got me some Tylenol. I had him take my temp again like 5 minutes later. Not even enough time for the Tylenol to make it to my stomach and my temp was already down to 99.7

I felt a bit better and decided to eat some apple sauce. About 30 min later I was puking the apple sauce up. My eyes hurt; I could focus on the tv so I decided to just go to bed. Kevin gave me a klonopin so I could try and sleep. I think I slept, but not great sleep. I was up several times, in and out of the bathroom. I can remember my stomach was just bubbling up a storm.

Saturday March 21st 2020 - Day 8 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

What I can remember of this day, it was beautiful.

I have some great video of Jager talking to Cara through the speaker at Starbucks.

I know I suggested to Kevin that we should go for a ride He was really excited about that.

He worked on the other house for a while and I worked in my garden.

I know I took a nap and when I got up, we went for a ride on the bike. It was about 4pm when we got on the freeway. We headed towards Pasadena. It was so beautiful out.

 

No one was on the freeway, well there was. We got off at Colorado Blvd. There was No. One. Out. It was kinda awesome to see no one on the streets at 4pm on a Saturday.

We cruised around, we stopped off to see if Pie n Burger was open and would be serving dinner. They were, so I called my dad and told him we should go there for dinner.

After that we rode by my Aunts house. She recently sold it, and it was in escrow.

I got a little paranoid riding on the streets by her house, it’s not the greatest area and people drive like shit! I’m just gonna leave it with that statement. Read further into if you want.

Anyways we headed home, and then it was time to go and meet my dad for dinner. We meet at Park n Ride and we all rode to Pasadena with him.

We sat out front of Pie n Burger in the red and ate our dinner. Bri wrote a little love note on my dad’s piece of pie.

Man, it’s hard not getting to go to your regular hang outs.

We came home and watched Outbreak on Netflix

Friday March 20th 2020 - Day 7 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

Happy First Day of Spring. It’s beautiful outside bright blue skies, puffy clouds, and cold!

Puffy clouds went away and now cloudy.

 

Woke up at 8am. Kevin had my phone and had gone to Starbucks. After trying to fall back to sleep, I went out and grabbed my phone. At 8:30 after looking at my phone I went out and ate my cheese Danish. I then went and read my emails. I decided to write yesterday’s entry and post to my blog. Jager has been sleeping in his bed next to my desk. Kevin is up working at the other house. And of course, Manny {my Gardner} is here {it’s a comforting sound here the lawn mower and blower} so far just another Friday morning. I’ve been sitting at my desk for about an hour and a half now. Time to get up, wash my face and brush my teeth!

Hoping to craft today. I think it’s gonna be a pretty lazy day with lots of scrapbooking ahead.

Happy Mail just came. I ordered some resin molds off amazon and they just arrived. Also ordered some HTV from Expressions Vinyl and it arrived too!

One of my biggest gripes right now is the social shaming. And I really hate the fact that Gavin Newsome used it in his press conference last night. He replied to a question about how they were gonna enforce the “safer at home” policy. He replied with that he wasn’t too worried about it cause there was enough social shaming going on. Excuse me? That what we are going to rely on? Isn’t that bullying? Any ways in the past few days I have unfollowed/unfriended several people for social shaming. You know what, you do you, I’ll do me. Yes, I was un happy with the family at Giamelas last night. I didn’t think they should have the whole family out. I get it, you need out of the house, I do too.

But both parents did not need to go in with all the kids.

1 parent could have stayed in the car with the kids. Just my opinion. Also, I get it some of us our are more susceptible to the virus. I get it that we could be carriers.

Yes, I am worried about my dad. He will be 81 in May. Hell, I am worried about Kevin, he has copd.

I went to Ikea yesterday. I had washed my hands before I left the house. I stood 6 feet away from people. I tried not to touch my face. I tried not to touch any surfaces. Once I loaded my car, I wiped my hands and car down with wipes. Maybe it’s not enough, maybe it is. And trust me, just because people are Socially Shaming” people, I don’t feel shammed. I don’t feel guilty.

I’m just annoyed!

I am not out just casually shopping. I am picking up supplies. I am in the middle of a remodel. The couple I have moving in are due with twins in April. I am doing my best for them! I was at IKEA to pick up pieces to finish the Kitchen, and to get them a dresser/changing table. When I went to Target the day before, I bought diapers and wipes.

I bought these things, I went out, because she cannot.

Ok sorry about that rant. I don’t normally like to share my feelings with the public. I don’t need or have too explain myself to anyone. But sometimes you just need to get it off your chest and since I know no one actually reads this blog, it should be my safe space on the internet.

 

Anyways, one of the things that Kevin and I both do is take our temperature a few times a day. Not sure if this is necessary or even helpful. Just thinking if it shows we have a temp. it might be a heads up of symptoms. SO far neither of us have even reached 98.6! We both are like 97.5 or 96.7 ha-ha not sure what that’s all about, but I know I have always been that way!

Oh, and another one of my gripes, which also has to do with the last one.

People telling you to support local. I’m not upset about that. I do support local. I do support small. But you’ve got people telling you this, while you have people shaming you for going out. Like seriously people make up your freaking minds! Do you want me to support local, or do you want me to stay in. We can’t have it both ways. Cause one way or another, buy supporting local or small, someone is going outside!

I wanted to get out of the house, and just go for a drive. Every once in a while, Kevin has this route around the city that he likes to take. Well we have only done like 2 other times. We get on the 210W to the 118W to the 405S to the 10E to the 110N.Thats the long way down town. We left the house around 8pm. It’s Friday night! It took us less than 30 min to downtown. This was a Friday night. This totally would have taken like 2+ hrs. if it was a regular night. There is no way in hell we would ever go that way. Anyways we got off at temple St. {I think} downtown, and drove down town for a bit. Just checking out the weirdness of no one. The staples center should have been packed. There should have been so much traffic, but nope! Instead of taking the freeway home, we took Alvarado St. to the 2. This was the only place in LA that was swarming with people. I couldn’t believe all the homeless and street millers. I mean I can, I see it every day, but there was full on tent villages on the side walk, all around Mc Arthur park. I can see the virus getting a hold of this area and just wiping it out!

We drove past St Vincent’s hospital, and it looked abandon. The next day on the news I heard they were reopening it cause of the pandemic.

We got home around 10pm, watched some TV and to sleep we went.

Thursday March 19th 2020 - Day 6 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

**this is a long post!

 

I woke up a bit earlier today. But who am I kidding, I think it was 8:30 lol.

Anyways I decided last night that I needed to go to IKEA and get the dresser for Angie. I had tried to do “click and collect” last night but all the spots were taken. IKEA had shut the showroom and market place down. You could only shop online and pick up from “click and collect”.

 

So, when I got up today, I went straight to my cart and ordered. I also got the jam Kevin needed to finish the pantry at the rental. My order said it would be ready at 11:00 am. So, I paid bills and then got ready to go.

I got my email the confirmed my order was ready, so I headed to IKEA. Of course, the 5 was stopped {accident} so I got off at Buena Vista and drove surface streets to IKEA. Glenoaks was definitely less busy than normal. I started noticing that every other business was closed. But all the drive throughs had lines.

 

When I pulled into IKEA it was a ghost town! I have to admit I kinda loved it! There were just the cars that were there to pick up orders. I got the first parking spot and backed in. I noticed that there was a line, and you couldn’t go inside. This was at the “exit” where “click and collect” is.

 

I got in line, I had my i.d. and my order recip. I was asked if I had gotten the conformation email that my order was ready. I had, but of course I didn’t print that out and couldn’t look it up cause it went to my EarthLink email. The guy believed me though!  Probably stood in line for about 10 min. IKEA had red dot stickers for us to stand on so we were 6 feet apart.

 

It was finally my turn, I got to the door {they weren’t letting anyone inside} gave the guy my name he grabbed my order and off I went. Of course, when I grabbed my cart it got away from me, and everything spilled off when I hit a sign {damn IKEA carts}. I got the few things that fell off back on my cart and the off to loading up my car.

 

An older man came and helped me load my car. I told him I didn’t need help but he insisted. He had just finished loading up his car. I thanked ah we loaded/talked. He said “isn’t it a bummer that IKEA was closed” I said well at least we could still come pick up orders {I guess he does a lot of IKEA kitchens}.

 

It poured on my way home. When I got home, I took the jam to Kevin and had JD unload the dresser out of my car.

Kevin and I went to Del Taco to get us lunch {JD had a friend help him today}.

After lunch, I did a live story for @pretty Little Studio on Instagram. 1 perk of the day, Color Me Happy had arrived on my door step. So I did a live unboxing. After the unboxing I took a nap.

 

When I woke up, I fussed around a bit more. I opened the drawer organizers {the ones for the dresser} and filled them with the baby clothes that I had gotten for Angie. I sent her pictures and told her I had gotten the dresser and “Happy Baby Shower Present”

 

I went up to the other house talked to Kevin a bit. He was putting the new hinges on the kitchen cabinets, and painted the cabinets where the old hinges had been. I checked out what the boys had done {they had cleaned up the last big pile} and then went home.

I sat down at the computer and decided that I was going to share this journal on my blog. So, I decided to back date my journal entries. I added photos/screenshots from the previous days to my post.

In the mean time I had ordered some stuff from Michael’s in Glendale and was waiting for the email conformation to go pick it up. Well that email never came in. Not really sure what happened there. Anyways my Dr.’s office emailed me, with some info and numbers to call if you get sick/feel sick etc. Somehow, I deleted the email before I finished reading it. So, I logged into Kevin’s email to see if he had gotten the email too.

 

He didn’t but I saw an email that was a past due invoice for the race car. So, I printed the invoice and called my dad asking him if he had paid it. He said he had tried, but no one had gotten back to him. Anyways he’s all “did you hear the news”? “I’m like no what news” “they have shut us down” “no more work” “we have to close Peen-Rite”. “I was like what”. He said that Newsome had just had a press conference and shut California down. And what were we going to do for dinner, lol.

 

Safer at Home order

 

I got a bit panicky cause, shits really bad if Peen-Rite can’t work. I went and got Kevin, it was 7:30pm and I was afraid we weren’t gonna be able to get any food. He could tell I was a bit panicky and closed up the house quickly.

My dad had watched the news with Bill and they both didn’t know if this applied to the factory’s etc. or not.

Only essential business were to be opened. What qualifies at essential?

Anyways I decided to call in Giamelas for dinner. They were open. We got there before the food was ready so we sat in the car and waited. While we waited, we could see a family inside. Mom, Dad, and 3 kids. The kids were touching everything. I commented to Kevin, geez they could have left the kids in the car. Why do all of them need to go inside?

 

 

Mark called me while Kevin was inside {he’s in Utah} and was asking some questions. I told him about the shutdown. He’s all I just got a text from Mike G, and he read me the screen shot of the email. Mike had text him. I think it was from Boeing, {not sure} anyways it read since we do work for the government that Peen-Rite and BG didn’t have to close down.

 

Whew that settled my nerves! Kevin and I got home at dinner we talked about the day and all the things. He commented that this was probably the worst/weirdest/scariest time that he could remember {I think 9/11 was scarier for me} but how things weren’t too much different in our normal daily life, other than we couldn’t go and sit in a restaurant for dinner.

After dinner we looked at our phones for a bit. I saw that 1 cause of corona had been confirmed in Tujunga.

So that was unsettling. I also read the article about the 34 year old man in Pasadena that had passed away this morning. So ya slowly things around here are feeling more and more scary.

We went to bed at 10:30 pm, that’s like so early for us. No TV just straight to bed!

Wednesday March 18th 2020 - Day 5 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

I didn’t wake up until 9am today. I slept like shit. The dog had me up 3 x’s so sleep was sparse.

When I got up Kevin had gotten the bizzle for me. The cat was sitting at the bedroom door waiting for me to share my cheese Danish with her.

I washed my face, brushed my teeth and headed out the door. Of course, I had to wear my new social distancing sweatshirt.

I need to go by Peen-Rite and drop of a check and got to the allergist to get my shot. After the Dr’s office I stopped off at Target to pick up a few things. OMG $400 later I left with diapers and baby clothes for Angie. 2 tank tops for Colten. Some dollar spot goodies for Colten and the girls next door. And just a few essentials like tampons, deodorant and toothpaste. Not that I needed any of this, but I hate to run out if the stores get shut down.

While I was at the Dr.’s office, a man from the OC said the OC had a curfew and if you got caught out after it, it was a $1000 fine.

After target I decided I would stop off at Costco to pick up some beer and water, hey maybe some baby wipes if I could find some. I found a parking spot with no problem. I got out and the line was a 45 min wait to get it. I said no way and got it my car and left.

When I got home, Maribel had cleaned the big house and was ready to do the motorhome. Kevin and I went to Jack in the Box and grabbed lunch. After lunch I washed more baby clothes. I also did a little watering in the garden. I fussed around on my phone for a bit and then took a late nap.

At 7:30 I told Kevin to wrap it up at the rental and go grab dinner. We went to Hell’s Chicken for take-out. When I called, they said oh you’re the ones who like the soggy fries. We picked up dinner came home and ate.

I did Kevin’s laundry and he fell asleep. I wasn’t quite tired, so I decided to come and type yesterday’s and today’s entry since I had lacked to do both {basically I have just been super lazy!}. And I knew I wasn’t going to fall asleep cause I was mentally writing the journal entries in my head {dork}.

Tuesday March 17th 2020 - Day 4 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

St. Patrick’s Day! HAHAHAAH and all the bars have been told to shut down.

It sounds way worse than it is.

 

Kevin went to the bizzle and it was sitting on the counter for me.

 

He’s is working on the rental and has JD working with him

Last night I Printed a bunch of St Patty’s coloring sheets and what not for Colten and the girls next door.

I ran to Sheri’s, Peen-Rite to take the payroll and the bank.

 

Right when I left Sheri’s it started to drizzle. But by the time I ran all my errands it stopped.

I stopped off at the shop and my dad said Hill St text them to say they were only doing take-out. So, they went to the town café {aka the old peoples place/opp}. I made sure my dad asked if they would be open for dinner and serving Corned Beef and Cabbage. Of course, they were!

Maribel came today to clean. She had texted me over the weekend to make sure it was ok to come. Hell, yes, I want her to come. When she got here, I asked if she wanted more work and asked if she wanted to clean the big house and the motorhome. She said yes and that she would come back tomorrow.

 

Kevin went to Queen’s for lunch. Take out only. It’s the new norm. I washed a bunch of baby clothes for Angie, and took a nap!

I found more cute Social Distancing stuff and had to make a sweatshirt from a cut file by Kim aka @agirlandagluegun.

We went to the opp for dinner. We ended up being the only ones there, besides a take out order. Dad and I got my corned beef and cabbage. Kevin got corned beef hash, breakfast style, lol.

I’m pretty sure this was our last meal inside a restaurant for a while!

We came home from dinner and I finished up the sweatshirt.

 

 

We watched a bit of tv and then to bed we went.

Monday March 16th 2020 - Day 3 of Social Distancing/Quarantine

Kevin went and got Starbucks for us this morning. He said that you could go inside and order, but all the tables and chairs had been stacked so no one could sit, eat and hang out.

Of course, he drove through.

When I woke up, we went to Home Depot to get some supplies for the remodel, just in case we get quarantined we will have supplies to get the house as close to done as possible.

I also ran in to Office Depot to get some laminating sheets. HAHA I am gonna end up laminating ALL THE THINGS!

I got some more veggies to plant in my garden, and I planted them as soon as I got home. Kevin went and got us Giamelas for lunch.

All the restaurants have been ordered to only have take out no sit ins. After lunch I took a nap.

When I woke up, I went over and talked to my dad for a bit.

He said that San Francisco was on a city wide shut down/quarantine and it was just a matter of time before LA was.

Kevin worked late on the rental and I just fussed around the house!

By the time we were hungry ready for dinner it was to late to go anywhere, so we decided on In-N-Out in the rain!
