on the road again:

Sorry I have been absent lately, I have been traveling for business and a bit of pleasure. We left LA July 28^th and thought we would only be gone for 3 weeks, well its turned into 4+ weeks now. I'll give you a quick run down. We left July 28^th for Seattle Washington for a race. We runnred up at that said race. On Aug4th we drove to our vacation home in Isleton Ca. where we meet up with Kevin’s sister and nephew. The 5^th was Kev’s Bday. On the 7^th we helped move Kevin’s nephew to San Fran for college. We then got to spend a few days back at the house enjoying the water. On Aug 12^th we drove back to Seattle for another race. My birthday was that Friday, Kevin and I spent the day in Seattle {Kevin had never been on to the Space Needle and neither of us had ever rode a duck}. We won said race and my dad then talked me into driving to Topeka Kansas. This is the point where I thought I would be headed home. So on the way to Topeka we stopped off at quite a few Harley Davidson Shops to collect shirts for Kevin {it’s a thing we do}. We didn’t have time to stop at Yellowstone park since we had to be in Topeka by Thursday {did I mention that Topeka is 1800 miles from Seattle?}. But we did stop in South Dakota to see Mt Rushmore. I had never been but Kevin had back in the 90’s. We arrived in Topeka and won that said race. Then off to Indy {Indianapolis} for the next race {547 miles}. Somewhere in Missouri we blew a tire.  It’s currently Wednesday afternoon. Tomorrow I am gonna fly home to take care of some stuff and then fly back Sunday. We will race on Monday since it’s Labor Day. Depending on how we do we may go to Charlotte NC and Dallas TX.

OMG let me just tell you how tired I am!

LOVE: mini album

 

 

I don’t very often make projects for fun. But I had an itch to create something. So I did. Mainly because I was really wanting to use my instax share printer.

 

So I sat down and printed a bunch of photos of Kevin and I. At this point I decided to make it “for his birthday” So I titled it LOVE. When he travels without me, I like to slip love letters into his bag. I based the book off quotes I have seen, and made the love notes.

The album came together pretty fast. I forced myself to use my stash. I mostly used paper from Pretty Little Studio’s Marigold and Silly Monkey Collections. The Harley paper I have had for years, and it was a scrap that fit perfectly in the book. I printed the quotes and cut then with my Silhouette Cameo.

This month I am gonna show you how to make cork ones!

 

 

Supplies Needed

 

Evolution

Genius Platform

Metal dies

Cork Sheets

 

Optional colored gel pens.

 

 

Place your die/dies on your genius platform

 

Lay your cork sheet on top of the dies

If you are using the Lifestyle cork sheets place the cork face down and the sticky paper up

I didn’t use the Lifestyle Crafts 4x12 sheets because I didn’t have them on hand. I used a 12x12 piece of cork that I bought from a scrapbooking store. The Lifestyles cork is self adhesive, and may cut better due to the sticky back paper.

You also may need to use a shim to cut the cork if your cork isn’t cutting. I think regular cardstock would work just fine
