tombow usa & pretty little studio: hop

Hi and Welcome to the Tombow USA and Pretty Little Studio! Get ready for two days of beautiful vintage inspiration! You probably came here from Tombow USA Blog

but if you happened to stumble across my blog go to the Tombow USA Blog (on Friday) Pretty Little Studio (On Saturday) to start!

I was so excited to get asked to work with Tombow USA for this hop. I wasn’t really too familiar with their product, and it was a great chance for me to use it!

I made 2 projects for this hop. First I will share the Wall Hanging that I made using Pretty Little Studio's New Collection the Gold Mine & Tombow’s Foam Tabs.

I started out cutting the striped paper to 9x9 and adhering PLS 8x8 Gold City with Tombow’s Xtreme Permanent Adhesive. I have used many tape runners over the year and this one is truly sticky! It’s Awesome! I then cut the quote with my Silhouette Cameo, and adhered it using Tombow’s Foam tabs. The small tabs are just the perfect size to cut in half and use on the skinny letters.

If you have followed my work you know how much I love my work to “pop” off the page.

I struggled with getting a decent photo of this project. 1. The gold foil map is REALLY hard to photograph 2. I have it hanging in a hall with bad lighting, and it’s super narrow, so I can’t get far enough back to get a good shot. Honestly the photos don’t do it justice.

For my next project I made a layout.

I LOVED this months Sketch Challenge from PLS and really wanted to play along.

I knew the PLS Bookmark Tags would be AWESOME

popping off the page with Tombow’s Foam Tabs.

I cut down a piece of 8x8 PLS vellum to use as my background. I used Tombow’s Permanent Adhesive, and WOW does this stuff rock with the vellum!

I then layered the PLS Bookmark Tags on top of the vellum using the small Tombow Foam Tabs. I then layered my photo over the Bookmark Tags and adhered using the large Tombow Foam Tabs.

I also used the Foam Tabs for my title to “pop” off the page!

#hashtagthisweek: the photos

I saw a couple of the girls I follow on instagram were using prompts from record life, and decided I wanted to play along. I plan on incorporating them in #myselfiescrapbook {more here} But I’ll save that project for another post.

Every week record life post a photo prompt. You hash tag your photo with #hashtagthisweek and share.

I normally don’t write a whole lot when I post to ig but I decided I would for these post since they are a glimpse into my life, and I might like seeing what I was doing in 2015 in the future.

I started late so my photos weren’t taken during the week of the prompt, but I don’t think that really matters! I still have one prompt to complete. I also included some of my outtakes., just so you can see I don’t get the perfect photo on the first try! I hope you decide to play along, I have had a really great time planning out my photos, and this circle of women are so encouraging!

2/22: Morning Routine
