Today I am sharing this layout using the Christmas Wishes Collection. This has been by far my favorite Christmas collection this year, and maybe of all time. Kinnari really knocked this one out of the park!

 

 

Kevin hung our Christmas lights and then took a picture of his handy work. Well I have to say our house truly looks magical this holiday season, and I am so lucky to have a guy this special!

 

 

I played off the background of the homes in the hills, cause I really do live in the hills! I also used the “Home for Christmas” cut file from The Cut Shoppe to create the bottom border.

 

 

I can’t decide what my favorite embellishment is from the Christmas Wishes collection, the rubber or acrylic pieces.

 

 

I also made this card recently just for fun. I used a sheet of paper from the 6x6 paper pack to create the foundation. I found the cut file in the silhouette store; it’s from Felicity Jane. Isn’t that bow darling! I loved the card so much I also made a dashboard that is similiar.

 

 

 

I hope you have enjoyed this hop and all the inspiration from the Design Team.

pinkfresh studio & the cut shoppe: product swap

Since I am on both teams, I felt I needed to make 2 layouts to show you how fun both companies products are.

 

 

For my first layout Target Dog I used all the images from the “very merry” cut file. I resized the images to fit in a 6x6 square so I could get 4 sets of cuts from 1 12x12. I also deleted the dot snowflake and added another deer in that space {I flipped the deer horizontally so he would be facing the other way}. I cut these images from the 12x12 color block sheet from “Christmas Wishes”.

 

I knew I wanted to make a layout with a circle and stitching. I drew my circle by tracing a bowl; I stitched around the traced line. I then mixed some cardstock die cuts from “Christmas Wishes” and the cuts from The Cut Shoppe. The ones I planned to use 3-D foam I took off, and stitched the ones with out foam.

 

 

 

After the second round of stitching I placed the die cuts with foam onto the layout for that added, “pop”! For a finishing touch I placed some puffy stickers, acrylic pieces and rubber embellishments

 

For my 2^nd layout, Red Cup Selfie, I cut down the 12x12 sheet with the house and trees. I then cut the dot snowflake from the “very merry” cut file from the same sheet. I then adhered this sheet to a piece of black 12x12 cardstock.

 

 

 

I backed my photo from a piece from the 6x6 “Christmas Wishes” paper pack. I used the left over cuts I made for my other layout and used die cuts & puffy stickers to create the Christmas scene at the bottom of my page.

 

 

I honestly can’t tell you which of these 2 layouts is my fave!

I am so excited to be guest designing this month for Paper Camellia.

I absolutely love these kits!

And the August kit is no exception.

The yellows and corals are so perfect for summer photos.

 

August Kit

 

 

I rarely make cards but when I saw the balloon design from the Happy Things collection it screamed cut me out, make me into a card. I used the bow tie die from Pink Fresh Studio’s Happy Things Collection  {designed by Jessy Christopher} for the balloons. After I created the card it just needed a bit more, so I got my water colors out and brushed some yellow under the balloons to give a shadow effect {this was totally out of my comfort zone, but I love the results}

 

 

 

 

In June I drove through Amarillo Texas. Neither Kevin or I had ever stopped at Cadillac Ranch, even though we have driven past it a dozen times. This was our chance to stop and we took it! Of course we didn’t know we could bring spray paint, and paint the Cadillac’s.

To get this picture I have the Sony dsc-qx100 lens. I set it in the lid of a spray can. Since it’s blue tooth I can see what the photo is going to look like on my phone, I then hold the phone be hind my back and click it with my thumb!

When I got the August kit I just knew I was going to scrap this photo with it. The colors were so perfect for this washed out photo {I had played with the F stop to wash it out when I took the original photo} I just love those photo slides in the kit. I’m always so afraid to use them, but I embraced it and went for it.

 

 

 

 

 

One of my “Happy Things” is collecting “you are here” mugs from Starbucks. On a recent trip we took a day trip to Milwaukee WI. Of course I had to stop at Starbucks and see if they had a state mug. I took the photo in the parking lot of the Harley Davidson Museum. The background buildings are the 3^rd ward, down by the river walk.

When I opened the August kit and saw the Elle’s Studio foodie paper I just knew I had to use it with my mug photo. I like to cluster pits and pieces and “the adventurer” tag from Fancy Pants was perfect to describe this photo. And how cute are those wood veneer from Pink Fresh Studio. They are self-adhesive!

 

 

 

 

 

For this layout I cut a bunch of triangles from the Happy Things paper. I added foam adhesive to the back of them and shuffled them around on my background paper. I was feeling the layout needed a bit more. I had just played with my watercolors and the Dream Card and was feeling daring {mix media, paint, watercolors scare me!}. So I just started making a big mess with the watercolors.  I can’t decide if this is a masterpiece or just a big mess. One way or another this layout makes me smile big! 1) because of that silly smiley face on the ground, 2) because I tried something new with the watercolors. Something that I have been afraid to do. I was lucky enough to participate in the 6pm Product Challenge: Sequins

 

 

 

I got to work with Winnie & Walter’s Big Bang Bling Clear Stamp. I used it as my background using the Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre inkpad. I love how it gives the effect that the sequins are bubbles from the sea. I was also lucky enough to use Winnie & Walter’s love cutaways {dies} wow those beauties’s cut like butter!

 

From Pink Fresh Studio I used paper {for the die cut & photo mat} and wood beads from, Up in The Clouds Collection. The messy circle die cut and jewels are both from the PFS embellishment kit {they are from separate kits}
