I last left you with I was flying home tomorrow. That was Aug. 28. Its now Sep 18. Boy do I have a lot to fill in.
I flew home and got the things I needed to get done, done. I flew back to Indy on Sunday morning, arriving around 4pm. There had been rain and our runs got postponed so Kevin got to come pick me up at the airport. Monday was the actual day of the race, and guess what, we won! That’s right we won the biggest race of the year. And on top of that it was the 60th anniversary. That’s kinda big deal around here. So we packed it up and Kevin and I headed to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. We didn’t need to be in Charlotte North Carolina for a week so we decided to have some time for ourselves. Let me just start off with we had a great time. We so needed this time for ourselves, and the beach was just what we needed. Now being from So Cal. We are not use to humidity. OMG that place is crazy humid. Actually everywhere but home is humid to us. Not knowing anything about Myrtle Beach we were totally in shock that it was such a tourist trap! Let me just say you could play miniature golf for a month straight and never play the same course twice. Did you need a beach towel or Beer bong? Well you can purchase not 1 from just 1 store on the corner but 2! All in all it was beautiful! Very different from the west coast, very. I also forgot to mention the water is crazy warm.
We left Monday morning and it was raining like crazy! We drove all the way to Raleigh North Carolina and it poured on us. And it rained all the way into Charlotte.
So we are now at the Bellagio of drag strips and we sit around for almost the whole weekend. The track was crappy and it rained a lot. We were able to get first round run so they couldn’t cancel the race. So now what you ask? We still don’t know when we are going to make up this race. We currently are in Ennis Texas awaiting the next race, which will start tomorrow. We are currently still #1 in points, we really needed the points from Charlotte to lock up the championship. But for now we sit and wait! Hopefully this coming morning we will get to head home… we are only 1400 miles from home. Ya I’m a little homesick!
